In 1783, William Brintons started a Spinning mill a few miles from Kidderminster in the United Kingdom, providing yarn for the town’s carpet making cottage industry. Within a few years Brintons moved into the town and with the industrial revolution well underway, power looms were soon introduced. The company’s early commitment to engineering and its reputation for technical excellence was established with the invention of the Gripper Axminster loom, followed over the years by several innovative developments including the 80:20 blend, Computer Aided Design, Aircell Creel, Colour Spectrophotometry for dye matching, HD weaving as well as more than ten loom developments.

Brintons weaves carpets for some of the world’s most discerning customers and the project list is second to none. Brintons Ltd. has manufacturing bases in Portugal, Poland and Brintons Carpets Asia Pvt. Ltd. in India. Most of the production is exported through a network of agents to over 70 countries making Brintons the world’s largest producer of Axminster Carpets.

Brintons decided to build a plant in India due to the increased global demand for its products. Brintons Carpets Asia Pvt. Ltd. was commissioned in March 1999 and successfully started commercial production in August 1999.

Brintons Carpets Asia Pvt. Ltd. is a 100% subsidiary of Brintons Carpets Ltd. UK. The Brintons India factory manufactures the best quality machine made woollen carpets. Brintons Carpets Asia Pvt. Ltd. factory is situated at about 25 kilometres from Pune, Maharashtra in India on a very picturesque location covering approximately 24 acres of land surrounded by trees and lush green lawn. It has got over 600 competent employees who by their collective effort produce the best quality carpets.

Brintons Carpets Asia Pvt. Ltd. is undertaking complete carpet manufacturing independently, including designing, spinning, dyeing, weaving, finishing, latexing, quality control and despatch. The plant runs for 24 hours each day in 3 shifts. The plant is operational 6 days a week.

The designing of the carpet is done at our Design Studio. The design of the carpet is finalised in consultation with the customer. The objective is to give a global design and planning service, technical support to sales, manufacturing teams worldwide and support to group IT. Over 50 young and energetic staff comprising of designers, planners and support staff work here. The Design Studio operations are divided broadly into 3 teams viz:- Enquiry Design, Planning & Estimation and Production design (PD, Design Support & Sampling). Group IT Support and Global IT Helpdesk support all the worldwide Brintons offices.

Brintons manufactures and spins its own yarn blends. The company’s looms are designed and engineered in-house. Brintons produces Axminster carpets with standard and custom designs. The carpet is then top sheared, checked and hand finished. The backing is then coated with a layer of latex for additional strength, given a final shear and edge trimmed. The carpet is then ready to dispatch.

Brintons Carpets Asia Pvt. Ltd. manufactures standard carpet ranges for Brintons UK and special orders for prestigious customers all over the world. Brintons India has developed its own domestic customers, few of the prestigious and precious being Taj, Leela, Oberoi, Hyatt, Le Meridian, ITC.
